Russia has accused Kyiv of launching drone attacks on Vladimir Putin’s residence between Moscow and Saint Petersburg, saying it would “revise” its negotiating stance on ending the conflict.
In an audio statement, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claimed that Ukraine fired 91 drones at Putin’s “official residence” in the Novgorod region overnight, but added that all were destroyed by Russian air defences.
US President Donald Trump said on Monday that Russian President Putin had told him a swarm of Ukrainian drones allegedly targeted one of his residences. Kyiv, however, denied the claim.
Speaking to reporters ahead of a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump said the Russian leader had raised the issue during a call earlier in the day.
